Ideal Property Group broke the ground for its new visionary project – Penang Technology Park@Bertam on 17 March 2023.
The state-of-the-art technology park, focused on high technology industries, is set to become a catalyst for economic growth in the region. The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang, and marked the beginning of a new era of technological innovation and collaboration in the region.
Penang Technology Park@Bertam is a freehold land spanning 880 acres, strategically located near major highways, sea port, airport, and railway station. The technology park is designed to attract high technology industries and is a catalyst to diversify the economy in the region. It offers built to lease, built to suit, and land for sale, with land prices ranging from RM62 to RM90 per sqft.
Penang Technology Park@Bertam is not just a technology park, but also a collaborative hub that brings together financial institutions, education institutions, service providers, and other stakeholders to accelerate each other’s strengths and enhance innovation. The technology park aims to nurture talents, incubate young entrepreneurs, and create immense employment opportunities for the region.
To achieve these goals, Penang Technology Park@Bertam has collaborated with various financial institutions, including AmBank (M) Berhad, Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (Exim Bank), and OCBC Bank. These financiers will provide banking and financing facilities with attractive loan schemes for investors and tenants.
Penang Technology Park@Bertam also collaborates with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) to jointly promote the technology park locally and globally, attract and facilitate investment, and offer incentives and subsidies.
In addition, Penang Technology Park@Bertam has partnered with leading universities such as Universiti Teknologi MARA and AIMST University to promote internship programs, practical training, working experiences, talent pools, and research and development.
To ensure reliable telecommunication and digital services, Penang Technology Park@Bertam collaborates with Maxis and Allo Technology Sdn Bhd. Meanwhile, the technology park is also collaborating with Angkasa-X Holdings Corporation to develop a space science and technology park. Penang Technology Park@Bertam also works with Berkeley Energy Commercial Industrial Solutions to provide environmental social and governance solutions, services, and technical input.
With these collaborative efforts, Penang Technology Park@Bertam is well-positioned to become a leading technology hub in the region, attracting innovative companies, creating jobs, and spurring economic growth.
