An orange colour pedestrian bridge spanning across a busy road in Tanjung Tokong of Penang Island have recently completed. It now provides safety and convenience in the area.
The overhead bridge connects Fettes Road and the Seri Tanjung Pinang Road, situated opposite the Prima Tanjong Business Centre.
The 37-meter-high overhead bridge boasts a modern structure that is designed to be accessible to the disabled and elderly individuals, equipped with lifts on both sides, would make it inclusive and user-friendly.
Penang State Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Development Committee Chairman Zairil Khir Johari, Adun Pulau Tikus Joshua Woo, Pengarah Kejuruteraan MBPP IR Cheah Chin Kooi, Pengarah JKR IR Ahmad Nazri and Ideal Property Group COO Dato’ Goh Teng Whoo were present at the launch of the pedestrian bridge.
The bridge’s has not only improved road safety but also reduced the pedestrian traffic signal phasing. Consequently, this has contributed to a more efficient traffic light cycle for vehicles, thereby alleviating traffic congestion in this bustling area.
